Description
Torch Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Electronics Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Specialize in cable assembly, printed circuit board (PCB) assembly, and electro-mechanical integration
Support prototyping and low-volume manufacturing for products used in commercial, aerospace, and defense applications
Work under routine supervision to assist mechanical engineers in applying mechanical/electro-mechanical technology in the development and testing of components and assemblies
Draft detailed drawings or sketches to support part fabrication
Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies
Set up and test complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions
Analyze test data and recommend modifications to components or procedures to meet performance specifications
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel in a dynamic, hands-on environment
Requirements
Associate Degree, or 2 years of formal technical training and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or requires an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
Proficient in cable harness fabrication and general mechanical assembly
Skilled in assembling electro-mechanical assemblies, including small and delicate components
Basic ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and other manufacturing documentation
Able to collaborate with design engineers to understand and execute complex assembly requirements
Familiar with production planning and quality control principles within an AS9100-certified environment
Competent with basic computer applications related to work instructions and parts list development
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team
Comfortable in a fast-paced, agile team environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
Familiarity with ECI M1 or other Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Capable of testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic assemblies
Experience using chemicals in material prep (e.g., for potting applications)
Proficient in soldering:
Leaded surface-mount components with 0.4 mm pitch spacing
0201 discrete packages
Skilled in microscope-assisted assembly work
Knowledgeable in electronic component handling requirements
Familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and FOD (Foreign Object Debris) standards
Current or prior certifications in:
IPC/WHMA-A-620
IPC-A-610
J-STD-001
IPC 7711/7721
Workplace safety is a priority at Torch. Candidates must receive and present an OSHA 10-Hour Training Course for General Industry certification (either a card from the Department of Labor or certificate of completion from an authorized trainer) within the first 90 days of employment.
