Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Service Desk Intern to join our Information Technology team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional IT support environment. The intern will assist in delivering technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the IT Service Desk operations.
Key Duties
Key Responsibilities: Provide first-level technical support to employees via phone, email, and ticketing system. Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network-related issues. Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of desktop and laptop computers. Support the onboarding and offboarding process by preparing equipment and user accounts. Document technical issues and solutions in the service desk knowledge base. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate IT staff in a timely manner. Maintain accurate records of user support requests and system configurations. Ensure adherence to company IT policies and procedures.Learning Outcomes: Practical experience with IT service desk operations and tools. Improved technical troubleshooting and user support skills. Exposure to IT asset management, security policies, and enterprise systems. Insight into professional IT service delivery within a corporate environment.Working Conditions: May involve prolonged periods at a desk and computer. Some physical activity may be required for equipment setup (lifting up to 25 lbs). Flexible hours available to accommodate academic schedules.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Basic understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common desktop applications. Previous IT support or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
