ACGME PROGRAM COORDINATOR POSITION AT MISSISSIPPI STATE HOSPITAL Mississippi State Hospital (MSH) is a licensed 382-bed state psychiatric hospital accredited by The Joint Commission and located in Rankin County.
The Hospital’s dedicated patient care staff consists of highly skilled and caring medical professionals, nurses, behavioral health staff, social workers, and support staff who work together to provide patient-centered care on a daily basis.
Services provided include: adult and child/adolescent psychiatric treatment, substance use disorder treatment, as well as treatment provided for forensic patients.
A vital part of Mississippi State Hospital is the Mississippi State Hospital Psychiatry Residency Program.
The Psychiatry Residency Program is ACGME accredited with a capacity of up to 24 psychiatry residents.
The ACGME Program Coordinator is an integral role and includes the following responsibilities: Coordinates resident program activities with a high degree of independence (e.g.
educational events, trainings, recruitment, orientation, graduation, site visits, etc). Works closely with residency program director concerning program management challenges and activities.
Identifies and evaluates methods for improvement and makes recommendations to program leadership.
Partners with program leadership in development of program-level policies.
Provides measurable impact on operational effectiveness and attainments of training program objectives.
Oversees the work of support staff.
Functions as a liaison between the residents, program director, faculty, human resources, participating sites, and other internal department and outside agencies.
Creates processes for tracking data: Rotations Work Hour compliance Conference attendance Evaluations Scholarly Activity Resident special projects Licensure Vacation, sick time Evaluates program policies to ensure alignment with institutional and accreditation requirements.
Experience: Experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Experience with ACGME standards and requirements is preferred.
