Description
• Effectively build new tooling, dies, fixtures and gauges from blue prints within established standards and customer specifications with moderate supervision.
• Effectively repair and trouble shoot existing tooling, dies and fixtures to blueprint specifications within established standards with moderate supervision, operating the production equipment when necessary (press, feeder, straightener etc.)
• Properly analyze and provide input when troubleshooting tooling.
• Accurately inspects own work verifying quality using a variety of equipment.
• Maintains thorough and accurate records and updates changes in accordance with established shop standards.
• Ensure on time deliveries within specified design parameters and tooling budgets.
• Efficiently analyses and improves machining methods so as to cut costs and improve quality.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
• Properly follow all H&M procedures and policies.
• Use correct P.P.E. per JHAs and Job Description. Must wear protective footwear that complies with ASTM F2413 & F2412.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities, including the Idea System.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
• High School or Vocational Technical School Diploma preferred. State of Connecticut Tool and Die Maker Journeyman preferred. Three years of experience in building/troubleshooting progressive dies.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, part drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to do basic math in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts of basic trigonometry and geometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Availability to work Saturday mornings when required.
• State of Connecticut Tool and Die Journeyman certificate preferred
