Software Engineer I

Location: 4 days/week onsite in Merrifield, VA – Mosaic District

ASCENDING Inc, is an Advanced AWS partner specializing in a variety of services and solutions surrounding Cloud Migrations, custom web app development, data analytics/big data and DevOps. We are currently looking for an Entry Level Software Engineer to join our consulting services group.

The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in a Software Engineering role working with Python and/or NodeJS. The ideal candidate will also have a willingness to learn and work with a variety of languages that depend on the particular client engagement. AWS experience is preferred.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or physics

Experience in Python development environments

Strong coding skills with Python

Strong grasp of design patterns, data structures and algorithms

Very strong written and interpersonal communication skills

Experience in backend developmentPreferred:

Experience in AWS

DevOps experience
