Job Details
Position Summary
We seek a results-driven, technically fluent Sales and Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand our project pipeline across California. This role involves identifying new market opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and closing sales of complex energy solutions, including CHP systems, microgrids, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new commercial and industrial customer opportunities across California for CHP and microgrid solutions.
Manage the sales funnel from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
Engage with facility managers, energy managers, consultants, and executive stakeholders to understand energy challenges and position us to win solutions.
Lead proposal development in coordination with the engineering team, including site evaluations, economic modeling, and technical presentations.
Stay informed on industry trends, incentive programs, utility tariffs, and regulatory updates relevant to distributed energy and on-site generation.
Represent us at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
Support capital development efforts by identifying strategic partners or potential offtake customers for large-scale projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Science, or related field (MBA or technical background preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in energy sales, distributed energy resources, CHP, or energy services.
Proven track record of closing B2B sales in the energy sector, preferably with commercial and industrial customers.
Strong understanding of CHP systems, microgrids, energy efficiency, and utility interconnection (Rule 21 knowledge a plus).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Experience with CRM tools, energy modeling software, and proposal writing.
