Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team and work under the supervision of the Shop Supervisor or Department Lead Person. The ideal candidate will have the ability to set up and operate one or more CNC or NC lathes, performing various operations such as turning, facing, boring, threading, and drilling. This role requires knowledge of various tools used on machines and the proper selection of tools for diverse operations. Applicants must be able to read blueprints and understand the machining necessary to mark parts to specifications, using various measuring instruments to ensure proper sizes are machined.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret basic drawings and sketches.
Use measuring tools to the .001” graduation, including micrometers, calipers, and indicators.
Follow all safety protocols.
Make adjustments to the machine and produce parts to the specified tolerances.
Perform basic set-up procedures and download/upload part programs.
Make basic edits to part programs at the machine tool control.
Select proper cutting tools as per the program set-up sheet and touch-off tools to set start points.
Interpret complex drawings and understand Geometric Dimensions and Tolerance.
Work with minimal supervision to produce complex parts in a timely and accurate manner.
Possess broad knowledge of mathematics required to complete tasks.
Write part programs at the machine and produce parts on multiple machines simultaneously.
Perform basic maintenance tasks to keep the machine running efficiently.
Train other operators.
Operate equipment safely, reporting any hazards or malfunctions.
Understand machine controls and adjust machining to maintain proper size parts.
Operate the DNC system to download and upload programs.
Install cutters and place guards correctly.
Load and unload parts being machined, adjust machines for precise machining, and gauge parts using various measuring equipment.
Conduct various inspection procedures and document daily operations.
Perform daily machine maintenance and use lifting aids as necessary.Essential Skills
Experience with Fanuc Controls on CNC Lathes.
Thorough understanding of machine tool safety and procedures.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge of cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cuts.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent.
3 years of machine tool experience.
Basic knowledge of shop math.
Proficiency in conversational programming and CNC lathe and mill operations.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily a shop setting where employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and higher noise levels. Steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and eye protection are required. The shop involves the cutting and machining of graphite, and while the company has excellent air filtration and dust collection systems, it can still be a dirty environment.
Job Location
This is based out of Denver, Pennsylvania.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
