Job Title: Electrical Control Panel Builder
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Control Panel Builder to assemble, wire, and troubleshoot custom industrial control panels. This role involves working from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to build clean, organized, and reliable panels.
Responsibilities
Assemble electrical control panels from layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Mount and wire PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), HMIs, VFDs, relays, motor starters, overloads, and associated components.
Perform wire stripping, labeling, routing, and terminations to ensure a professional and UL-compliant appearance.
Interpret and verify schematic accuracy; suggest corrections if errors are found.
Operate hand and power tools to fabricate, modify, or assemble enclosures.
Conduct power-up testing and troubleshooting for newly assembled panels.
Maintain organized wiring practices including wire tagging, color coding, and proper bundling.
Work independently to meet quality and production deadlines.
Collaborate with engineers and management on design improvements.
Perform field installations and troubleshooting if required.Essential Skills
Fabrication skills including MIG welding, stick welding, TIG welding, and structural welding.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
Experience with electrical assembly, including panel wiring and building.
Proficiency in blueprint reading.
Troubleshooting skills for electrical systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Welding proficiency with demonstrated ability to perform MIG welding with clean, strong welds on various materials and thicknesses. TIG welding is a bonus.
Skilled in using basic power tools such as angle grinders, drills, magnet drills, plasma cutters, and band saws.
Certified or experienced in operating forklifts for material handling.
Proficiency with measurement tools like T-square and tape measures.
Project facilitation skills with the capability of planning, organizing, and executing fabrication projects.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Excellent time management skills to keep projects on schedule.
Clear verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of shop safety practices and commitment to enforcing them.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a garage shop located at the headquarters in Lake Forest, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment to fabricate and assemble electrical panels.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Lake Forest, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
