Job Description:
Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting, including balance sheet, income statements, cash flows, and variance analysis in compliance with relevant accounting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
Ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger, including journal entries for income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
Make necessary adjustments for accruals, depreciation, and amortization as part of month-end or year-end closing processes.
Perform variance analysis to compare actual results against budgets, forecasts, or prior periods, and provide explanations for discrepancies.
Calculate and monitor financial ratios (e.g., liquidity ratios, profitability ratios, and solvency ratios) to assess the company’s performance.
Analyze financial data and provide insights into the company's performance, profitability, and financial health.
Reconcile accounts, ensuring that the balance in the general ledger matches supporting records and adequate explanation of balance details.
Utilize ERP software to manage financial transactions, generate reports, and ensure accuracy.
Work closely with other members of the finance team to gather and analyze data for accurate financial reporting.
Communicate financial information and analysis to management, inter-company departments and external parties as needed for decision-making and reporting.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and software to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure timely reporting.
Establish and maintain policies, procedures and internal controls to prevent errors, fraud, or financial misreporting.
Assist during annual audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and clarifications about financial statements and accounts.
Daily and weekly reconciliations with bank statements, payroll reports and ERP reporting - ensure that all company transactions are reflected in the bank records.
Prepare and submit necessary tax filings and ensure the company is in compliance with tax laws.
Monitor and report on the company’s cash flow, including weekly payment processing.
Coordinate with accounting specialist to process supplier invoices in a timely manner – provide backup support including customer and vendor payments and customer invoice processing.
Skills & Qualifications
Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Understanding of organizational accounting concepts
Knowledge of ERP software
Familiarity with tax laws and regulations
Excellent attention to detail
Collaboration and teamwork
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) as it applies to a manufacturing environment
