Youth and Young Adult Mentor Time Commitment: 24 - 32 hours per week

Job Types: Part-time

Pay: From $17 an hour, $18 with Bachelor's. Additional increases offered for trainings, education, and experience.

Young people struggling with depression, anxiety, and trauma come to Telos from across the world to find help and healing. As a Mentor or Residential Advisor you will befriend, inspire, teach, and supervise the clients who live here. You will learn to help young people struggling with mental health challenges implement therapeutic tools in their lives. Duties include:

Participate in healthy recreation with clients (rock climbing, skiing, hiking, etc.)

Form inspiring relationships of trust that encourage healthy living

Primarily responsible for the safety and supervision of students

Helps clients implement therapy skills in day-to-day living

Transportation of students

Communicate and document observations with clients

First aid response Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Exceptional relationship skills and genuine care and concern for others.

Work history that supports they are prompt and timely, dependable and reliable.

A tolerant, supportive view of the LGBTQ+ community.

Must have the ability to hold appropriate boundaries.

Must have the ability to receive and carry out instruction.

Experience working with youth or young adults in the behavioral health field (preferred but not required)

Experience as a Mentor/Resident Advisor (preferred but not required)

Experience in a residential treatment center (preferred but not required)

SCHEDULE:

We are currently hiring for the following shifts:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 7am-3pm

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 3pm-11pm

Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 7am-3pm

Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 3pm-11pm

All positions are part-time and Sundays are required (once or twice a month).
