Summary
We are currently representing a Central California-based general contractor with over 30 years of experience delivering public works, federal, and private sector construction projects across Southern and Central California. They are actively seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to oversee field operations on a traveling basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong coordination skills and a background in public agency or federal work.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all on-site activities to ensure project progress aligns with safety, schedule, and quality objectives
Supervise subcontractors, vendors, laborers, and inspectors across multiple scopes of work
Interpret blueprints and project documents to direct daily field operations
Oversee site logistics, project phasing, and daily jobsite planning
Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA compliance
Track labor, generate daily logs, and maintain project documentation
Coordinate site meetings with owners, project managers, and field personnel
Assist with material procurement and support schedule and budget management
Foster a productive and professional jobsite environment
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of Superintendent or Foreman experience in commercial or public works construction
Experience managing public agency or federal government projects required
Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents
Familiarity with regulatory and safety codes; OSHA knowledge required
Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
Must be open to traveling across Southern and Central California
Valid driver’s license required
