Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Job Site Address 111 Congress Ave., Suite, Austin, Texas 78701 Hybrid - 2 days/week in the Austin office required and 3 days/week working from home permitted QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field; - 7 years of experience in backend engineering, with a focus on building highly responsive, fault tolerant services; - 7 years of experience and technical proficiency in building highly reliable, highly responsive services backed by relational and non-relational data stores; - 5 years of experience and demonstrated expertise as a Systems Designer in designing, implementing, and maintaining (through operational observability) high-availability, high-performance, distributed systems; - 7 years of experience and ability to deliver well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code solutions to complex technical challenges; - 5 years of experience with multiple software stacks, having opinions and preferences but not tightly coupled to a specific stack; and - 5 years of experience with delivering cloud native software solutions (including designing, implementing, and operating) in the cloud.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES: - Contribute to our E-discovery product and responsible for both hands-on technical work to improve existing systems as well as guiding long-term evolutions in this space; - Ensure that the product and its backend systems meet current and future functional and scaling demands; - Contribute to both implementing and system design, playing a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving our software systems to meet the growing demands of our business, ensuring high availability and high performance; - Deliver Software: Engage actively in coding, code reviews, and technical discussions, ensuring high-quality output; - Architect Systems: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance, easily modifiable distributed systems; - Optimize Performance: Continuously enhance system performance, focusing on meeting customer needs using the best practices for designing scalable distributed systems; - Provide Technical Mentorship: Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning; and - Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
