Position: Marketing Manager

Start Date: ASAP

Employment Type: Full-time (approximately 40 hours per week)

CTD Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

Salary Range: $53,000 - $55,000 (dependent on experience)

Required Experience

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about marketing, marketing strategy, and travel. Candidates must be confident in Facebook/Instagram (including ads and lead generation), design platforms like Canva, email platforms like Constant Contact, and hold a strong interest in serving people.

Having served in the tourism industry is a plus.

Individuals holding an Associates/Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Country Travel Discoveries (CTD) is a group tour operator that offers handcrafted and meticulously planned vacation experiences across the U.S. and abroad. Launched in 2012, CTD has continued the tradition of avoiding crowded tourist destinations, preferring back roads, cultural attractions, and local stops - many arranged with area hosts exclusively for us. Our team prioritizes finding unique experiences that travelers can't get on their own.

Job Summary

This position will work under the direction of the CTD President and handle various tasks, including but not limited to, creative writing, content creation, designing catalog mailings, database entry/mailing list management, website updates, email marketing, social media advertising, metric reporting, and more. A successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of marketing strategy.

Primary Role Responsibilities

Creates a monthly marketing strategy to selling upcoming tours

Writes print pieces including letters, postcards, catalogs, and blog posts

Builds bi-weekly emails using Constant Contact

Designs graphics using Canva and other platforms

Builds social media posts/stories for Facebook and Instagram

Creates a yearly marketing budget and processes/tracks invoices

Delivers quarterly ROI and analytic updates to the CTD President

Understands how to leverage AI for marketing purposes

Pulls mailing lists using our reservations database, Centaur, and cleans the data in Excel

Understands social media reels and can create video content

Amends our CTD website to update new tour content

Edits print pieces in Adobe (like the CTD catalog) with the support of our Graphic Designer

Properly and professionally represents CTD with travelers on the road

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Exceptional writing and editing skills: Must be a strong writer with the ability to adjust their style to meet the tone of our company brand

Detail Oriented: Cognizant of details and ensures proper tour information is published

Excellent communication: Is able to articulate CTD's mission and brand with confidence and passion

Knowledge of Marketing Platforms: Proficient in Canva, Adobe, Constant Contact, Facebook/Instagram, and other related programs

Microsoft Office Proficiency: Extensive knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Public Speaking: Comfortable creating and giving presentations to small and large groups with the CTD President

Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Remains organized while managing multiple projects at once

Innovative: Creatively presents new marketing strategies and generates proactive solutions to selling tours

Reliable and Positive: Has a hard-working mentality and prioritizes supporting their team by showing up for work each day with a joyful attitude

Integrity: Values honesty and handles sensitive traveler information with integrity

Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel (domestic and/or abroad) 1-3 weeks per year

Knowledge of Travel: Understands world geography and top destinations

Languages

Strong command of written and oral English
