Our client is seeking a Controller responsible for managing the accounting and financial operations of a family office. With over 1.5 billion UAM, (mostly with Ultra High-Net Worth Individuals), the firm seeks someone who can lead and manage all aspects of the firm’s accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, SEC compliance, and internal controls.
Position is full time in the office (no exceptions).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership, providing financial insights and oversight to support ongoing growth initiatives.
Offer key support to the Family Office Services (FOS) team, assisting with the accounting and financial planning needs of select ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets for the family office.
Accounting Operations: Managing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax regulations tax returns.
Investment Management: Monitor and report on the family's investment portfolio, including performance and risk.
Software Implementation: Lead the implementation of financial software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of financial strategies.
Ensure compliance with all applicable SEC regulations, including Form ADV filings and other required disclosures
Monitor and address regulatory changes that may impact firm operations
Advise leadership on regulatory matters related to accounting and finance
Collaborate with the firm’s compliance vendor to maintain best practices and provide additional support
MAIN REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years of experience in accounting and finance, including experience in wealth management or working with high-net-worth clients
Demonstrated knowledge of SEC compliance within a family office or wealth management environment, including Form ADV preparation and monitoring regulatory developments
Experience not only with tactical finance and accounting responsibilities, but also contributing strategic insights to support business operations and financial decision-making
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and financial modeling tools
Salary is between 175K-225K plus bonus and excellent benefits
