The Opportunity

his position is based at our Chicago locations (Willis or Abbott Park Waukegan) within Abbott’s Strategic Programs and Connected Solutions group under Digital Technology Services. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Manager with outstanding leadership, relationship-building, technical acumen, and storytelling abilities to drive the product life cycle for digital and GenAI/AI products. This role is pivotal in guiding product development, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring product success.

What You'll Work On

Strategic Alignment: Understand business strategies, set product roadmap, and oversee execution. Collaborate with senior leadership, stakeholders, developers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives and deliverables.

Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor and oversee a team of product managers, fostering skill enhancement and professional growth while managing a diverse portfolio of products across multiple divisions.

Product Development & Planning: Provide guidance on product development activities, including inception, prototyping, user stories, core development, and collaboration with global teams. Spearhead early-phase product inception workshops, including business justification, implementation, commercialization plans, impact and ROI measurements.

Executive Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Lead executive-level communication to articulate value and outcomes effectively. Conduct product overviews with stakeholders and present plans to internal management.

Technical Acumen & Compliance: Background in Data, Analytics, and Digital Technologies. Demonstrate experience working in regulated industries and adhering to compliance and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education:

12+ Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

Experience managing complex product portfolios in the medical device industry.

Experience leading as a Portfolio Product Manager

5+ years of experience leading teams

Expertise in innovation, strategic product planning, and technical execution.

Proven experience leading digital and GenAI/AI product teams.

Leadership Skills:

Bring a customer-centric mindset along with a strong understanding of technology, processes, and tools to deliver the features, capabilities, and solutions required to support the business unit and corresponding brand teams.

Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

Capable of leading a team and also functioning as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Ability to leverage and engage others to achieve results.

Communication Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization.

Ability to develop, rationalize, and present insight-driven strategy.

Technical Skills:

Understanding of the technology and capabilities of the Division’s products, market and customer dynamics, and functional operations across departments.

Strong analytical and computer skills, with working knowledge of financial estimations.

Personal Attributes:

Positive attitude, leadership, and the desire and ability to lead the organization to achieve goals.

Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and resourcefulness.

Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with attention to detail.

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 10%, including internationally.

The base pay for this position is $127,300.00 – $254,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
