We have an exciting opportunity in the Customer Solutions BSA as a Quality Engineer for the Consumer Privacy applications and programs. This is a great opportunity to help Nationwide continue to provide industry leading customer service and be an advocate for consumer privacy.

As Quality Engineer for the Consumer Privacy product team, you will be part of an engaged agile team supporting build and run activities across our application suite and programs. Your primary responsibilities will be maintaining the high quality of our consumer privacy applications and products and actively supporting Consumer Privacy Compliance across the enterprise by closely partnering with other Nationwide technology teams and our business partners aligning to Nationwide's Chief Customer Officer. Application responsibility includes, but not limited to, Tag Governance, One Trust, PIIxE, Stix, InfoTrust, and TrustArc.

Ideal candidates will have the following experiences:

Automation Testing: Preferably using Tosca

Agile, Collaboration, Task and Service Management: Jira, R4J, ServiceNow, Office365, Teams

Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

A desire to proactively contribute to the overall success of their team

Is focused on efficiently delivering quality products

Is comfortable working in collaborative environment, directly with business partners

Consumer Privacy

Bachelor's degree in computer science

This role will be filled in a hybrid capacity, with in-office collaboration in our Columbus, OH office 1-2 days per week.

As a Quality Engineer you will plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyzes to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards aligned to their quality management approach, as well as, end-user requirements. All Quality Engineers perform quality planning, quality design and execution.

You will focus on a blend of skills enabling efficient execution of risk-based testing, test automation, performance testing, test data management, test environment management, continuous integration and continuous deployment all improving speed to delivery for our business partners.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Under guidance, carries out procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.

Analyzes and reviews requirements, user stories and technical work products.

Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.

Uses the appropriate quality engineering tools to design and create the automation needed.

Validates basic test results, records and researches defects.

With guidance leverages appropriate test engineering and automation tools and techniques for each technology domain and application.

Assists in the identification of means to deliver more effective and efficient testing, without compromising quality.

Executes basic to moderate release testing and backs out testing when needed.

Identifies, documents, and reports several release test results.

Addresses defects found in release testing and works with the appropriate team members to resolve open testing issues or testing questions.

Aligns with the Nationwide automated testing reference architecture.

Complies with release management process governance and timelines throughout the release.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Technology Manager or Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred.

License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications including TOSCA Automated Specialist 1 (AS1), TOSCA Automated Specialist 2 (AS2), or other related designations are preferred.

Experience: Two years of related experience with software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Demonstrated experience in testing for agile teams including planning, test plan creation, maintenance and execution. Understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Solid analytical and communication skills, knowledge of planning. Ability to problem solve and set priorities needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership or technical skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.
