Summary

The Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Manager provides overall leadership and direction to direct reports responsible for maintenance; implementing strategies to increase operational efficiency, planning and scheduling activities and process improvements in the factory, maintenance spending, Engineering and capital projects, maintain quality, provide and/or arrange for necessary training of maintenance staff, ensure continuous improvement, all without compromising employee safety. This position is responsible for maintaining all facilities and equipment in proper working order and performing to pre-established standards of operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides direction and priorities on a daily basis to all maintenance personnel.

Develops and maintains an effective and efficient Team while fostering an atmosphere/culture of Continuous Improvement.

Coordinates the work of the staff, under his/her direct supervision to ensure the effectiveness of the Program, and to encourage good cooperation between all aspects of the program.

Ensures that appropriate inventory levels for standard replacement parts are maintained.

Initiates cost savings measures to ensure that all capital projects, maintenance planning, deliverables, reporting, and spending forecasts are managed accurately and that all capital and maintenance projects are delivered within cost, schedule and performance success criteria.

Assists in plant layout decisions including locations of machines and other support areas in order to facilitate continuous flow.

Oversees maintenance of the building/facility and grounds including building maintenance and repairs, lawn care and snow removal, ensuring a professional appearance is maintained.

Provides technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime. Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime /inefficient operational issues.

Measures and upgrades standards for all job functions and procedures.

Installs electrical power for various machines and tools related to the production areas of the plant encompassing the ability to locate electrical trouble and repair any electrical equipment or system in the plant; including repair, adjustment, complete rebuilding, and works on hot circuits and installs conduits.

Interfaces closely with other departments to ensure projects involving facility maintenance are defined accurately and executed effectively.

Establishes, implements and maintains plans for Preventative Maintenance program.

Oversees development of safety plans and safety training for maintenance personnel.

Prepares reports, performs written analyses, and maintains administrative function for all maintenance responsibilities.

Conducts inspections of each property (at least quarterly), prepares report of findings and implement action plan for necessary corrections.

Provides ongoing technical support in identifying needed repairs of facilities, malfunctioning machines, and other circumstances associated with maintaining and improving the integrity, reliability, safety, and customer service of DRC.

Communicates and negotiates effectively with vendors and contractors to obtain proposals and or contracts for necessary services as requested and approved.

Job Requirements

Must be able to travel to all DRC offices/production plants as required.

Ability to read tape measure and convert fractions to decimal measurements.

Ability to read and use measuring equipment, including micrometers and calipers.

Ability to read and follow blueprints.

Ability to understand plant layouts and manufacturing equipment processes.

Ability to operate various tools and equipment.

Must be detail oriented.

Must be self-motivated and team oriented.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and other departments.

Education//Experience

Degree in Maintenance Management or Mechanical, Industrial, Process, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum of 2-4 years or secondary degree/greater education or other formal training within a manufacturing/production maintenance environment required.

Five plus years of facility management experience and direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Proven experience with electrical work and repairs, welding, fabricating, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid processes, and ability to read schematic drawings. Knowledge of PM and TPM methodologies.

Proven experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives including Preventive and Predictive maintenance systems.

Strong computer and customer service skills.
