Low Voltage Technician/ Fire alarm Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Systems Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of low voltage systems, including fire alarms, security systems, camera systems, WiFi networks, telephone systems, smart home technology, audio/ video, CAT6 cabling, and under-cabinet lighting. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and service low voltage systems such as fire alarms, security systems, and smart home automation etc.

Set up and troubleshoot WiFi networks, telephone systems, and CAT6 structured cabling.

Integrate home theater systems, including audio-visual components, surround sound, and smart entertainment solutions.

Install and maintain under-cabinet lighting and other specialty low-voltage lighting solutions.

Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents.

Perform system testing, inspections, and troubleshooting to ensure functionality and compliance with industry standards.

Work with customers to understand their needs and provide professional recommendations.

Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and system configurations.

Adhere to safety guidelines and electrical codes.

Qualifications:

Experience: 2+ years in low voltage installation and maintenance (fire alarms, security, AV, smart home, cabling).

Certifications (Preferred): NICET, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific certifications in security, networking, or home automation.

Skills: Strong troubleshooting, wiring, and installation skills; ability to work with power tools and test equipment.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or certifications a plus).

Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to travel to job sites.

Salary Range:

$50,000 - $80,000 per year (based on experience, certifications, and skill level)
