Summary:

The Building Maintenance Technician will oversee daily operations of industrial and residential properties. You will ensure the buildings are functional and well-maintained, providing a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

Key Responsibilities:

Health and Safety:

Follow and enforce safety policies and procedures.

Ensure fire alarms, sprinklers, and other building systems work properly and meet regulations.

Conduct regular safety checks and fix any hazards quickly.

Keep records of maintenance and repairs.

General Maintenance and Repairs:

Inspect properties regularly to find maintenance needs.

Perform minor plumbing repairs like fixing leaks and unclogging drains.

Handle basic electrical repairs, such as changing light bulbs and fixtures.

Do minor carpentry tasks like assembling furniture.

Painting.

Grounds and Exterior Maintenance:

Salt walkways in winter for safety.

Hang signs as needed.

Keep outdoor areas clean and tidy, including trash removal and landscaping.

Building Operations:

Monitor and manage HVAC systems for tenant comfort.

Coordinate with contractors for repairs and projects.

Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.

Pick up parts and materials as needed.

Travel occasionally for work.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.

Valid G driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle. NOTE: A clean driver’s abstract is required to be eligible for this position.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an industrial setting.

Proven experience as a Building Maintenance Technician, or in a related role.

Basic knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.

Ability to perform minor plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry repairs.

Able to lift to 50 pounds.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Positive attitude and teamwork skills.

Proficiency in verbal, written, and presentation communication.

Basic computer skills (MS Office).

Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently.

Skilled in conflict resolution.

Flexible availability (days, nights, weekends) when required.

Working with Heights Certification, preferred.

Forklift license, preferred.
