We are seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic global R&D team dedicated to the development of cutting-edge solutions for electrified commercial vehicles. Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the development of power electronics components for electrified commercial vehicles, including electric drives, power converters, and power distribution units.
Develop detailed mechanical, electrical, and software requirement documentation for both internally developed and externally sourced components.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, control systems) to ensure seamless integration and optimization of power electronics systems in vehicle applications.
Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and internal departments to bring designs from concept to production, meeting timelines and ensuring high-quality execution.
Lead and coordinate component system and vehicle-level testing activities such as DVP&R, HIL validation, and EMI/EMC mitigation working with various other engineering teams within the global organization.
Act as a mentor and coach to junior engineers, providing guidance and support on technical aspects of power electronics development.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 6 years of experience in product design/development
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology
At least 3 years of experience in product design/development
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities

Desired Skills
Proficiency in high voltage system design, including 800V architectures, insulation coordination, EMI/EMC mitigation, and thermal management of power electronics.
Knowledge of Electromechanical Power Take-Off (ePTO) systems and power transfer mechanisms in electric commercial vehicles.
Experience with onboard charging (OBC), DC fast charging, and DC-AC power conversion in commercial BEVs.
Hands-on experience designing, integrating, and testing Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) power interfaces.
Familiarity with automotive standards and compliance, including ISO 26262, SAE J1772, CCS, NACS, MCS and IEC 61851.
Experience with general automotive development processes and best practices like DFMEA, DVPR, DRBFM, DRBTR, APQP, 8D, Change Management
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality adherence requirements relevant to HV Power Electronics components.
