Job Title: Outside Sales Manager
Job Overview: The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of sales representatives who focus on acquiring new business and maintaining client relationships outside of the office environment. This position requires exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of the sales process, and the ability to drive revenue through effective territory management, lead generation, and customer engagement. The Outside Sales Manager will play a key role in developing strategies, setting sales targets, and ensuring that their team meets or exceeds goals while providing superior service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of outside sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and skill development.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure team members understand their goals and expectations.
Sales Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute sales strategies to expand the company's market presence, grow the customer base, and increase revenue.
Set sales goals and quotas for the team, and track their progress toward achieving targets.
Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and to ensure team targets are met.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories or markets.
Conduct in-person sales meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to potential clients.
Market Analysis & Reporting:
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities or potential threats.
Prepare sales forecasts and regular reports on sales performance, including revenue, pipeline status, and market trends.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Work closely with the senior leadership team to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
Administrative Duties:
Manage the territory and client database, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accurate.
Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, expense reports, and other required documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant industry regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a sales manager, outside sales representative, or similar role.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze sales performance and market trends.
Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
Ability to travel frequently within assigned territories.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
The position is field-based, with a majority of time spent visiting clients and potential customers.
Occasional office work for meetings, strategy sessions, and administrative tasks.
Travel is required within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays.
