Overview

This position is for a Principal Security Engineer with a concentration on engineering policies and rules for data scanning and data loss prevention (e.g. endpoint and email DLP). The right candidate will have the ability to serve in a technical lead role, provide technical project management/oversight, and provide hands-on support at an SME level within areas of focus.

The role involves providing lead support and technical guidance as well as support data scanning and DLP initiatives from the conceptual phase to operationalization, as well as support troubleshooting initiatives, root cause analysis, and solution maturation will be key success factors.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team of cyber engineers supporting technologies within area of focus

Provide technical guidance to data scanning initiatives and projects

Provide technical guidance to DLP solutions and projects

Evaluate technical solutions in response to business challenges

Provide thought leadership in support continuous improvements and service maturation

Present technical solutions as needed for knowledge sharing and acceptance

Provide project support and status reporting

Establish and maintain system documentation

Represent changes via CAB meetings

Collaborate with partnering teams in support of solution development and deployment

Qualifications

Strong team player, able to communicate and show leadership amongst teams of similarly knowledgeable specialists and Engineers

Experience leading technical teams

Experience working with Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Minimum (7) years' experience in Security Engineering with a concentration on data scanning and DLP

Minimum (7) years' experience with System design, administration, security, and DLP rule development

Proficient and professional verbal and written communication, including group training.

Practical understanding of machine learning and automation

Desired Qualifications

10+ years' experience with data scanning and DLP design, administration, and security

Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, certifications, or equivalent work experience

Experience with Varonis, Palo Alto DLP, and MS Purview DLP

Active CISSP Certification

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Location: 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 Remote

May require nights and/or weekends based on project needs. Travel is required but limited.
