Description:

The Engineering Technician will take ownership of maintenance aspects of certain projects across the location. They will create solutions to operational gaps that require technical capabilities. Will work with production personnel to identify and solve problems they face daily. Work cross functionally with R&D, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to provide improvements to current process and implement solutions with new projects

This position reports to the Sr. Manager of Special Projects and is based out of our Lonoke, Arkansas office.

What you’ll do:

Assist with implementation of capital projects across the entire location utilizing a strong background in mechanical aptitude, understanding of ammunition manufacturing, and ability to create new and different solutions to problems as they arise

Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, eliminate failure modes, and create solutions that cut costs and improve the end product for our customers.

Strong cross functional mechanical background to personally complete basic plumbing, electrical, rigging, installation, and troubleshooting of equipment without reliance on maintenance support.

Experience to help with design of ammunition components to improve functionality, throughput, or processing issues experienced during the manufacturing process

Background with problem-solving strategies to improve output including PDCA, DMAIC, 8D, and kaizen

Interact with all parties utilizing a strong servant leadership mentality with the intent to help solve problems and improve company performance.

Experience you bring:

High School diploma, G.E.D. certificate or recognized equivalent

10+ years of experience setting up new equipment including necessary mechanical design and utility requirements of machinery.

Ability to speak, read and write in the English language sufficient enough to perform the following:

Communicate effectively with other team members and supervision

Read and comprehend process instructions

Record pertinent process information as required

Background with ammunition ballistics, testing, and loading requirements of different calibers.

Experience working with third party contractors on all aspects of projects including budgeting, oversight, and verifying successful completion of work.

Self-motivated hard worker.

Ability to read and interpret product drawings.

Good problem solving and analytical ability.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic computer and writing skills for data recording and creation of status reports.

You might have:

Ability to shoot field guns for product testing purposes is preferred.

Experience with handloading, shooting and hunting preferred.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$28.46 - $39.86

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
