About the Job:
Our client, a leading seafood company in Sri Lanka, is seeking a Project Manager/Structural Engineer on a 1-year contract to oversee the construction of their new office space. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the project from start to finish, ensuring that the office space is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while coordinating with various teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the construction of the new office space, ensuring the project progresses according to plan and meets quality standards.
Coordinate with management and external construction companies to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
Regularly inspect the site to ensure the work complies with design specifications, safety standards, and structural integrity.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth and effective communication.
Review and approve construction plans and budgets to ensure cost control and resource allocation.
Provide regular updates to management on project progress, milestones, and potential challenges.
Troubleshoot and resolve any structural or engineering issues that arise during the construction phase.
Ensure the office space meets all specifications and quality standards before handover.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
No specific experience period required, but prior experience in managing office space construction projects is preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and construction practices.
Experience in managing office construction projects is an advantage.
Ability to handle multiple stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Existing contacts within the construction industry are a plus
