Parts Import-Export Control Specialist Career Opportunity
Knowledge of domestic and international logistics trends, including port labor-management negotiations.
Propose the optimal transportation routes and services with the transiting and off-loading ports.
Responsible for various research tasks to inform investment strategy and make investment decisions for the company as related to inbound freight, customs, duty, and brokerage.
Gather information, assemble spreadsheets, write reports, and review all non-legal pertinent information about prospective transportation deals.
Ensure all imports and exports comply with international trade regulations, including customs clearance, import/export licenses, trade agreements, and embargoes.
Examine the feasibility of a deal and prepare a plan of action based on financial analysis.
Perform data entry and KPI tracking, liaising with carriers and internal departments to troubleshoot any issues and ensure shipments arrive at their destination within the required timeframes.
Visualize, facilitate, and support warehouse logistics, transportation, and customer service.
Support all aspects of parts inbound logistics and warehousing.
Use the best practices to solve various issues that may arise in transportation.
Build strong relationships with carriers, develop the most effective transportation methods, and use data to understand the current situation and constantly improve. Parts Import-Export Control Specialist Role and Responsibilities
Verify the accuracy of HTS/ECCN codes provided by suppliers/third parties, and regularly review/update HTS/ECCN codes to reflect any changes in product specifications or regulations
Prepare and maintain detailed records of HTS/ECCN classifications for all products, and ensure that the use of HTS/ECCN codes aligns with compliance requirements, including duties, taxes, and trade agreements
Semi-annual freight forwarder negotiations and selection
Enforce the ISF (10 plus 2) rule with Japan
Customs Bond
Prepare necessary documents promptly for customs clearance and send them to the necessary departments or brokers so that import customs clearance can proceed swiftly.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to import/export activities
Follow PGA import rules and regulations to ensure company compliance
Track and report parts receiving accuracy and timeliness
File claims with inbound carriers as required
OS&D weekly updates
Arrange Depot-to-Depot freight

5+ years of practical working experience in inventory and parts logistic operations
