Fire Alarm Technician

Job Overview
• Install, program, troubleshoot, service, inspect, and test fire alarm systems
• Install and configure initiating and notification devices
• Full turnkey installation of fire alarm systems including conduit, MC, wire, boxes, and supports
• Utilize blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures
• Work with the fire alarm designer to ensure fire alarm system meets all relevant codes and standards.
• Ability to work on other low voltage systems when needed
• Work with some of today’s latest infrastructure technology

Preferred Experience
• Understanding of building, mechanical, sprinkler, and fire alarm codes
• Ability to install full turnkey, complete fire alarm systems and all of the other components
• Experience as a senior or lead technician
• Experience with Siemens fire alarm products
• Previous experience performing quarterly/semi-annual fire alarm testing and inspections
• Ability to do fire alarm inspections with the AHJ
• Commercial installation, troubleshooting and repairs of Fire Alarm Systems
• Conduit/MC installation experience and electrical code knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge and familiarity with local AHJ installation codes
Job Skills and Requirements
• Fire alarm experience and Nevada F-card are required for this position
• Must be able to use a meter for troubleshooting
• Must have own tools and transportation
• Ability to work flexible hours including night and weekends based on customer needs
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card is required
• Current NV driver’s license is required
• Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately in English
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to move freely and safely up and down ladders or stairs
• Must possess a positive attitude and be able to interact with co-workers, customers, and other trade professionals
