Job Title: TIG Welder

Job Description

This position involves performing TIG welding around the shop, working on projects ranging from small medical devices to aerospace products. The primary material is stainless steel, but the role also requires knowledge of mild steel, and experience with aluminum is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

Follow blueprints, arrange metal pieces, and fix them into position before TIG welding.

Weld in different directions including flat, horizontal, and vertical on stainless steel, carbon steel, and occasionally aluminum.

Safely set up and operate welding machines and other shop equipment.

Match work orders to components.

Ensure quality throughout the production process by completing continuous quality inspections.

Process all required documentation.

Weld, grind, and polish all metals according to component specifications.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.Essential Skills

TIG welding

Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum

Ability to read blueprints

Ability to match work orders with components

Fabrication experience

Strong quality inspection skillsAdditional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with MIG welding

No certification required for TIG welding

Work Environment

This position is in a dirty and industrial environment that can be loud when machines are operating. The job is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and properly wear and use safety gear.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, California.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
