Job Title: Saw Operator

Job Description

The Saw Operator will work in a non-climate controlled environment, using band saws and metal saws to cut metals, primarily aviation grade, to order specifications. The operator will also be responsible for moving materials with a forklift.

Responsibilities

Operate one or more saws in the service center with expertise.

Process orders according to customer cut-to-size specifications.

Ensure timely and accurate order processing.

Pull and stage material for processing.

Retrieve material from plate racks using a fork truck.

Measure material to exact specifications and enter data into the computer.

Safely operate cranes, fork trucks, and apply safe rigging techniques.

Assist in packaging, receiving shipments, and weekly inventory cycle counts.

Use precision tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers, and calipers.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Follow company policies and procedures.Essential Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two or more years of experience or training with saws and/or machinery.

One year of experience in the metals service center industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Good organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.

Ability to measure using various tools.

Ability to read and calculate numbers and data.

Capability to work independently and take direction.

Integrity and positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.

Strong work ethic and self-motivation.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment

The work environment is a comfortable, non-climate controlled warehouse. There are heaters in the winter, and in the summer, doors are opened with large fans circulating the air. The shift options include 2pm-10:30pm and 10pm-6:30am.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $45760.00/yr.
