Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a key accounting role. This person will report directly to the EVP of Operations & Production and work closely with the CEO. They will play a critical role in managing core accounting functions, supporting financial planning, and helping turn financial data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

• Handle invoicing and billing across multiple client projects

• Process and record incoming payments, including checks and electronic transfers

• Code and track company AMEX charges accurately

• Generate journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure monthly books are closed on time

• Coordinate with internal teams to align project revenue and expense tracking

• Support payroll processing in Gusto, ensuring timely and accurate compensation

• Lead budget planning and forecasting efforts with executive leadership

• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, along with ad hoc financial analysis

• Work closely with the CEO and EVP to prepare reporting packages and insights for Board-level review

• Liaise with external CPA for financial statements and annual corporate tax filings

• Ensure financial records comply with GAAP and internal controls

• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data

Tools & Systems:

• Xero (core accounting system)

• Bill.com (accounts payable)

• Gusto (payroll)

• Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets)

• Slack and Asana (internal communication and task management)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a small business or agency environment

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Hands-on experience with Xero, Bill.com, and Gusto preferred

• Proficiency in Google Sheets and the broader Google Workspace

• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail

• Able to work independently and take full ownership of accounting processes

• Comfortable communicating with leadership and collaborating across departments

• High level of integrity, reliability, and discretion

Compensation:

• Starting salary: $70,000

• Opportunity to grow to $75,000+ after 6 months based on performanceCompany Description
