Machine Operator

Job Description

$18-22 DOE

1st and 2nd Shifts

Monday-Friday with possible OT

Operating, and maintaining industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient production by following standard operating procedures, monitoring quality, and performing routine maintenance tasks to produce goods according to specifications; requiring adherence to safety regulations and the ability to identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions.

Key responsibilities of a Machine Operator:

Quality Control:

Identify and report any defects or inconsistencies in the product output

Perform quality checks using measuring tools to verify dimensions and specifications

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Immediately report any safety hazards or accidents

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain production logs and records of machine operation

Document any issues encountered during production

Machine Setup and Operation:

Monitor machine functions, adjusting settings like speed and pressure to maintain optimal production.

Inspect output regularly to ensure quality standards are met.

Prepare machines for production by following established procedures, including calibration and cleaning.

Load raw materials or parts into machines as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic machine operation principles

Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints

Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards

Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to work independently and follow established procedures

Physical ability to lift and handle materials as needed

Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
