Job overview and responsibilities

The Senior Analyst of Crew Resources Strategy & Planning leverages an analytical background to create and maintain the strategy of the pilot planning business. The role will support the design of data analysis that answers complex questions and drives integration and alignment across the crew resources system. The Senior Analyst will assess data needs for specific projects and build the right framework for analysis in collaboration with other areas of the business. Expertise in strategic storytelling will be necessary for advanced presentation development including taking a coordination role when the matter spans multiple facets. Critical components of the work will surround workforce system design - e.g. pilot base strategies and balancing, global fleet staffing optimization for seasonality re-fleeting, etc. – the recommendations for which will be driven by analytics.

Uses analytics and business acumen to recommend strategic changes, including, but not limited to, base footprint, pairing construction & pilot schedule strategy and objectives, reserve and Line Average optimization

Analyzes the operational and financial implications of a variety of scenarios

Leverage advanced analytics to drive deeper understanding of pilot planning trends, opportunities to optimize staffing strategy, and deliver efficient pilot plans

Communicates strategy through analytical presentation building, dashboard development, and analytical reporting

Completes ad-hoc projects and analyses as assigned by department leadership

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience

2+ years' experience in related role

2+ years relevant management - level experience

Advanced Excel; knowledge of SQL and PowerBI; modeling skills

Leadership, communication, presentation development skills

Intellectual curiosity and self-motivation to heed signals in data and want to understand root causes and glean actionable insights from that understanding

Demonstrated track record of using data analysis to evaluate anecdotal hypotheses or abstract concepts and using results to drive business change

Strong communication skills both verbally and through visual mediums like dashboards and PowerPoint

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent experience in Management Consulting or Airline Management

Crew Planning, Network Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, or Strategic Planning/Corporate Development at a major global airline with multiple aircraft types and crew bases

Programming language (R or Python) experience
