Architectural Intern – Mungo Homes Design & Drafting Department

Join Mungo Homes as an Architectural Intern and gain hands-on experience in residential design, drafting, and home plan development. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside a seasoned team of professionals, contributing to the creation of high-quality, innovative homes throughout the Southeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (performs other duties as assigned)

Assists w/ residential construction drawings (elevations, floor plans, foundation information plans, construction details, and electrical plans) complying with company drafting standards.

Utilize AutoCAD LT for production of drawings. Requires proficiency using AutoCAD and its commands and the ability to use such things as model space, paper space, layer management and XREFs.

Maintain plan library and update drawings as needed per code changes, design changes, added options, added elevations, etc. Must follow defined Plan Maintenance/Revision Process.

Redline work performed by self and peers using defined redline process and accurately pickup redlines.

Ensure the consistency, neatness and accuracy of plans produced.

Attending as-needed site visits may be encouraged or required.

May create or maintain various spreadsheets or drawings (mini plans/ footprints) used/referenced by other departments including but not limited to Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Land Development and Executive Staff.

This position utilizes AutoCAD LT, SketchUp, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. BIM software skills may be needed.

Computer Skills:

Strong working knowledge of computerized design software

Some experience with AutoCad LT (specifically Xrefs, Paper Space, & layer management)

Experience with AutoCAD Architecture is a plus

Experience with SketchUp is a plus (other BIM programs correlate/translate)

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
