SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the liquor, beer, and N/A beverage program at Patty O’s Cafe. The Bar Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and implementing a cocktail list that is on par with our sister restaurant, the 3-Star Michelin Inn at Little Washington, and raises the bar, for our Café. The Bar Supervisor will uphold restaurant and hotel standards and create a friendly and educational work environment for staff while being the leader of the bar team. Duties include, but are not limited to; assisting with purchasing, receiving, storage, distribution and security of all liquor and beverage products, daily maintenance of all cocktail lists, updating and keeping POS system current, staff training, COGS tracking, and assisting with month end and daily beverage inventory. Daily/nightly bartending duties are part of this job as well. In addition, the Bar Supervisor is responsible for organization, upkeep, and cleanliness of the bar and beverage/liquor storage units.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Daily/nightly Bar service at Patty O’s Café
Helps to create Patty O’s cocktails list, which changes seasonally
3. Assists with Liquor Inventory to be completed and emailed to DOW on the 1st of each month.
4. Meeting Forbes and Patty O’s standards; including all aspects of guest service delivery – especially timing of service delivery.
5. BTG Wine Knowledge
6. Responsible for updating and printing accurate cocktail/spirit menus
7. Responsible for ensuring accurate beer/wine/cocktail menus are updated on website.
8. Responsible for educating staff on new cocktail offerings prior to them going live with guests
9. Implement creative liquor program that includes a focus on both classic and current creation cocktails that can be made and served within Forbes/Chef’s time standards.
10. Communicate all 86’d beer/wine/liquors to staff daily.
11. Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working condition of departmental equipment, supplies and work areas.
12. HotSOS/Maintenance communication
13. Assist management with planning of the weekly schedule for the Bartenders.
14. Review Bartenders timecards in Paycom and process the necessary corrections to ensure payroll accuracy.
15. Assist with creating and implementing beverage training for the staff.
16. Ensures that staff follow Patty O’s policies and procedures, including Grooming Standards.
17. Assist in training and educating new staff members about Inn culture and Forbes Standards.
Perform other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential:
High School graduate
Knowledge of standard drink recipes
Working knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer.
Minimum 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
Experience as a bartender and/or cocktail server
Ability to read, white and speak English fluently to effectively interact with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
Fine Dining Experience
Customer Service skills
Availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Available to work AM/PM & night shift.
Desirable:
Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service.
Any previous culinary training.
Certification in alcohol awareness program.
Knowledge of Computerized P.O.S. systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
Able to continuously bend, reach and twist.
