Position Overview:

This position will play an important role on Single Family Risk division to create strategy and implement tools and methods of risk evaluation. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in credit underwriting, credit policy, Automated underwriting tools and create vision and strategy across multiple capabilities. The team is responsible for developing solutions for automating underwriting Risk Assessment helping reduce risk for Freddie Mac. Innovate based on market behaviors while efficiently analyzing, mitigating, and clearly defining credit risk.

Your Impact:

Solidify strategy and vision across multiple capabilities for Automated Underwriting Risk assessment tools designed to assess a credit risk

Drive prioritization for the capabilities for Automated Underwriting Risk assessment tools and coordinate features with key internal stakeholders and resources across the teams to support delivery of Freddie Mac’s capabilities.

Manage the intake items to provide insights to enhance risk tools and lead organization to successfully consult and deliver solutions

Anticipate feature trends and changing needs among clients and industries at large to build and drive a strong risk management capability

Manage credit risk exposure derived from banking and financial services activities

Review products from vendors in partnership with Partner integration team to assess fit for underwriting solutions

Manage staff who will track action items, issues, and risks associated with projects. Follow up on open items to ensure resolution and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion

Work in partnership with other business stakeholders and customer facing team to increase understanding of AURA tools and capabilities

Provide timely, relevant, robust analysis to support credit-related business

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends decisions

Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve problems

Develop structured prioritization and clear communication of business needs across multiple projects and teams

Work on complex issues where analyses of situations require understanding of diverse factors, including knowledge of Freddie Mac technology offerings, customer loan origination processes and current business trends in the mortgage market

Qualifications:

12 + years of related professional work experience

Substantial experience of primary and secondary mortgage markets as well as an understanding of how Freddie Mac interacts with them.

Understanding of the full mortgage stakeholder ecosystem related to underwriting, credit policies and credit scores, including: the roles of lenders with varying business models, investors, mortgage insurance companies and rating agencies etc.

Outstanding product development and organizational change skills

Top notch written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to management, expertly facilitate meetings and develop and deliver presentations/materials to various levels of audiences.

Has successfully managed a diverse portfolio of external clients/stakeholders with delivery accountability

Proven ability to influence senior leadership level work in highly matrixed environment

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $199,000 - $299,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
