Job Title: Community Service Worker (CSW)
Job Summary:
The Community Service Worker helps individuals and families navigate social challenges by connecting them with resources, offering emotional support, and advocating for their needs. CSWs work in various settings, including non-profit organizations, government agencies, schools, hospitals, and community centers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess client needs and develop individualized support plans.
Provide counseling and emotional support to individuals facing crises.
Advocate for clients to ensure access to housing, healthcare, education, and employment.
Facilitate group workshops on life skills, financial literacy, and community engagement.
Coordinate referrals to social services, including food assistance, mental health support, and job training.
Assist with crisis intervention, including domestic violence, homelessness, and substance abuse cases.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and service delivery.
Collaborate with social workers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to improve client outcomes.
Qualifications:
Degree or certification in social work, human services, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with diverse populations and handle sensitive situations.
Knowledge of community resources and social service programs.
Experience in case management, counseling, or advocacy (preferred).
Work Environment:
Office-based, fieldwork, or remote settings depending on the role.
