Welcome to Tap Electric. Tap is an e-mobility startup based in the heart of Amsterdam, connecting drivers to chargers for seamless car charging. Our mission is to deliver brilliant driver experience at the intersection of grid and mobility.

The role

We seek a COO to join the two founders on the management team. The founders have deep product and market expertise and are looking for a seasoned operator to help prepare Tap Electric for large scale. We have the ambition (and the product) to become the leading e-mobility app and platform in our current markets in the very near term, and to become a global energy player in the coming years.

You will be responsible for large parts of the P&L, implement systems to support B2C and B2B growth, and turn the talents and passion of the Tap team into a machine that will take us to the next level.

You are a strategic leader that is not afraid to get their hands dirty.

You are passionate about building and growth, in particular about B2C business and all of the challenges that come with it

You are quality-obsessed and strive for operational excellence

What you’ll need

Direct experience as a founder, or extensive experience in managing an early stage software startup

Strong in financial forecasting and reporting

Experience in leading or supporting fundraising efforts

Experience with goal setting and KPI management to realise both long term and short term success

Skill in strategic planning and making the big and difficult decisions (without forgetting the smaller ones) that will drive the business forward

Experience in scaling up processes in various departments in a fast moving environment, ideally also in multiple countries

Nice to haves

B2C go-to-market experience and building data-driven performance frameworks

Experience in B2B sales process optimisation (RevOps)

Investor network

Experience in the energy and/or e-mobility space

We are looking for an astronaut. Someone who is not scared to take on a challenge that to outsiders looks impossible. You will be building a rocket, midflight, from the inside out. A bit more about Tap

Tap was founded in late 2020 by two charging software veterans, Nico and Dan, who saw that the charging UX for EV drivers was broken. They bootstrapped their way to building 2 key products: a driver app that enables really simple payments on a huge network of chargers; and a platform for charger owners and installers to manage their chargers and collect payments. Tap is live in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK with thousands of satisfied users.
