We are looking for a Configuration Manager to join Akkodis team in Hengelo, the Netherlands.

Together with knowledge partners, customers, and suppliers, we work on, among other things, Radars for the Navy and Army, Cyber Security solutions, Cryogenic cooling systems, communication systems for the Army, and R&D for Radars.

In Hengelo, the Naval Business Unit develops products and “Solution Systems” for the Navy. To stay in control of our product configurations, the Configuration Management (CM) department manages product baselines and data integrity. We do this using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system Windchill.

About your future job

You are responsible for drafting and executing the Configuration Management Plan (CMP). The core of the role is managing systems and products throughout their entire lifecycle.

As a Configuration Manager, you are an expert in configuration management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). You have experience in Engineering and/or Supply Chain, giving you insight into the value and necessity of PLM.

In this role, you not only handle your own tasks but also take on guiding and coordinating responsibilities. You contribute to the department’s vision and strategy and help continuously improve configuration management practices.

You describe, implement, and maintain the fundamental activities outlined in the CMP:

Planning and control

Identification

Configuration control

Status accounting

Verification and audits

Develop and maintain configuration management processes, methods, and best practices using the international CM2 standard.

Perform configuration management tasks within projects, such as managing baselines and deliveries.

Monitor and direct CM activities within projects (e.g., change management).

Create and deliver configuration management/Product Lifecycle Management (awareness) presentations and training.

Act as a process expert, understanding processes in detail and contributing to their improvement.

Participate in improvement projects to help build support for change.

You are a valuable sparring partner for colleagues, product managers, and/or project managers.

We are looking for a person who

Has a BSc or MSc degree preferably in a technical or IT-related field

Experience and knowledge of Configuration Management and Product Lifecycle Management.

CM2 certified.

Knowledge of development, release, configuration & change management tools and best practices.

Ability and knowledge to implement and manage improvements using Agile and/or Lean methodologies.

Process knowledge and understanding of Engineering and Supply Chain processes.

Proactive attitude and analytical skills.

Leadership skills and the ability to make independent decisions.

Comfortable operating at all levels of the organization.

Attention to both detail and the bigger picture.

Good command (both spoken and written) of Dutch and English (German and French are a plus).
