JOB PURPOSE
As a Polymer Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing polymer materials for various applications. Working closely with Polymer Scientists and Engineers, you will develop new material recipes, analyze polymer properties, and collaborate on innovative projects using recycled and novel materials. Your expertise will contribute to material innovation, product development, and process optimization across multiple production locations.
YOUR JOB
Your responsibilities will be as follows:
Develop and create new material recipe projects in collaboration with Polymer Scientists and Engineers.
Formulate and test new material mixtures, focusing on recycled and novel materials.
Characterize the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of polymers using techniques such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA, MFI, and Stress & Strain analysis.
Analyze and interpret data using statistical methods to drive material improvements.
Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop, plan, and test polymer formulations.
Optimize production processes by working closely with Test Center Engineers, Support Engineers, and Mould Engineers.
Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) projects by providing polymer expertise.
Troubleshoot material-related challenges across all production locations.
Maintain safety protocols and ensure a well-organized laboratory environment.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
You will definitely have;
Master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry .
Experience in a professional Test Center within an international company.
Strong understanding of Injection Moulding, Plastics, and Polymer/Plastic Welding Methods .
Background in structured reporting, quality assurance, and quality control .
Proficiency in MS Office and software for computer-controlled equipment.
High level of personal initiative, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong teamwork, flexibility, and ability to work under high time pressure.
Fluency in Dutch, English, and preferably German (international collaboration required).
