Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team. This individual will be instrumental in developing innovative, high-quality products from concept through production, using SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing generation. A strong background in Lean Manufacturing principles and process flow optimization is essential to ensure designs are not only functional but also manufacturable and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop new products and components using SolidWorks, ensuring DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles are integrated.

Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for prototyping and production.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Conduct design reviews, tolerance stack-ups, and failure mode analysis.

Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to design workflows that minimize waste and improve efficiency.

Develop and improve process flow documentation, work instructions, and assembly procedures.

Assist with prototyping, testing, and validation of new products to ensure performance meets specifications.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives for product design and production processes.

Maintain up-to-date documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.

3+ years of experience in product design and development.

Expert proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, surfacing, assemblies, and technical drawings).

Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma is a plus.

Experience in developing and optimizing manufacturing process flows.

Solid knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and GD&T.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
