The Role

As VP, Business Operations at Mach Industries, you will be the linchpin of our day-to-day business functions, ensuring that our teams—from engineering to executive leadership—have the resources, environment, and support they need to succeed. You will oversee Hiring, HR, IT, Facilities, Events, Internal Communications, and various operational initiatives, driving efficiency, compliance, and a best-in-class employee experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven defense technology company.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end recruitment process: job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, offer negotiation, and onboarding.

Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Manage performance review cycles, employee relations, benefits administration, and professional development programs.

Oversee IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, workstations, and cloud services, ensuring high availability and security.

Partner with cybersecurity teams to enforce data protection standards and respond to incidents.

Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software licenses, cleaning, catering, etc.

Coordinate office space planning, maintenance, and safety protocols for our Huntington Beach HQ and future locations.

Plan and execute company-wide events: offsites, workforce trainings, and holiday celebrations.

Develop and maintain internal channels of communication that keep employees informed and engaged.

Serve as primary liaison to finance for P&L reporting on operational spend.

Identify process-improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, preferably in hard tech or defense sectors.

Proven track record owning multiple functions (HR, IT, Facilities, Events) in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional project and people management skills.

Demonstrated ownership mentality and ability to thrive under ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and benefits administration.

Strong technical acumen with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity fundamentals.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
