Requirements:
Must have:
A valid NJ School Administrator Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility
A Master's Degree, (Doctorate of Education preferred) with specialization in curriculum development and educational program development
A minimum of three years as an administrator preferably in a position responsible for school and district wide program development with staff supervision responsibilities. Reports to: Superintendent of Schools
Coordinates the following, but not limited to:
1. Pre-Kindergarten - 12th grade instruction
2. Federal grants and mandated programs (Pre-School and Title I, II, and IV)
3. Innovation programs and new curriculum development
4. Instructional technology, research and design
5. Gifted and Talented Programs of study
6. College and career pathways
7. Professional development for teachers
Job Goal:
To provide consistent, ongoing supervision of the district's educational philosophy, goals and objectives that lay a foundation for continual improvement through innovation and best practices
Responsibilities:
Supervise the development and implementation of a high quality, viable curricula for all students in all subject areas in accordance with State standards.
Supervise principals and supervisors
Lead, guide and instruct school faculty and staff in the implementation of quality teaching methods, pedagogy and strategies to produce systemic student achievement.
Supervise the preparation and administration of the Curriculum & Instruction budgets in accordance with district goals.
Build partnerships with local and regional higher education institutions
Monitor the College and Career Pathways, Programs of Study, and Innovative Initiatives
Serve on the district's education subcommittee, assisting the Superintendent by preparing draft agendas, briefing members on improvement initiatives, including best practices and innovations.
Collaborate with the Pupil Performance and Accountability Officer on innovations, keeping abreast of cutting edge instructional methods, strategies and learning tools.
Lead, guide, direct professional development programs, including the new teacher orientation program.
Collaborate with Human Resources to direct and monitor teacher and administrator evaluation processes, SGO and mSGP development and coordinate school improvement planning.
Oversee the district's innovation, research, and design of new programs of study
Oversee the district's teacher mentoring program
Manage the district's ESSA application process, including completing the needs assessment, budget, allocation of Title funding, amendments and carryovers.
Serve as the administrator in charge of the school district in the absence of the Superintendent of Schools
Perform all other & duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Salary:
