IT Specialist – Systems & Endpoint ManagementLocation: On-site – Sanford, FL (Travel to DeLand and local field sites required)DescriptionSolutions LLC is supporting its State Government customer on a mission-critical sustainment program providing full lifecycle support for systems infrastructure, user devices, and backup operations.

The Systems & Endpoint Management Specialist is responsible for the stability, integrity, and performance of enterprise servers, endpoint devices, and backup environments across the Department’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures operational continuity through proactive patching, configuration management, and user support, and plays a critical role in recovery readiness and endpoint compliance.ResponsibilitiesServer & Infrastructure Operations

Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server and Linux-based systems in physical and virtualized environments.

Apply security patches and system updates in accordance with organizational policies and change control procedures.

Manage enterprise services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy across distributed domains.

Maintain detailed system documentation including configuration baselines, asset records, and patch logs.Endpoint & User Support

Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices across all business units.

Perform root cause analysis for endpoint issues involving hardware, operating systems, and application stacks.

Ensure user endpoints comply with client standards for configuration, patching, and access control.

Support workstation provisioning, deprovisioning, and imaging using standardized processes and deployment tools.Backup & Recovery

Operate and monitor enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) for both physical and virtual systems.

Validate backup schedules and perform periodic restore tests to ensure data integrity and recoverability.

Maintain backup job documentation and report on success/failure trends for compliance and audit readiness.

Collaborate with server and application owners to define backup scope, retention, and recovery point objectives (RPOs).Operational Support & Compliance

Respond to incidents and service requests using formal ITSM/ticketing systems.

Participate in DR/COOP exercises and infrastructure recovery simulations.

Assist in onboarding new users and devices into domain infrastructure, ensuring proper access provisioning.

Adhere to FDOT policies and procedures for SLERS, CJIS, and change management.Required Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must be eligible for SLERS and CJIS background clearance.

DoD Secret or DoD Top Secret of equivalent preferred, but not required

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and perimeter security roles.

Hands-on experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).

Demonstrated experience operating enterprise backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, or similar).

Proficient in supporting end-user devices (Windows-based workstations, printers, mobile devices) at Tier 2 or 3 level.

Experience using ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or similar) for ticket management, change control, and asset tracking.

Familiarity with patch management, endpoint hardening, and configuration baselining in accordance with NIST or CIS benchmarks.

Strong troubleshooting skills for both system-level and user-facing issues.Desired Skills

Familiarity with ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation principles for incident, problem, and change management.

Understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) and relevant controls from NIST SP 800-53, particularly in the System & Information Integrity (SI), Configuration Management (CM), and Contingency Planning (CP) families.

Experience with endpoint management platforms, such as Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Intune, or JAMF.

Experience supporting Disaster Recovery (DR) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) testing and documentation.

Working knowledge of asset lifecycle management, including imaging, inventory, and secure decommissioning.

Basic scripting capabilities (e.g., PowerShell or Bash) to automate patching, deployment, or auditing tasks.

Experience in state, local, or transportation-sector government IT environments.Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or Cybersecurity (or equivalent experience).Desired Certifications

CompTIA A+ or CompTIA ITF+

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent

VMware VCP, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Linux+

Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Commvault Certified Professional, or equivalent
