What you will do:

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) role is accountable for the end-to-end execution of organizational programs and projects that support SECU’s Transformation and Optimization division. SPMs work with Executive Sponsors and Business Line Leaders to build and deliver solution-based programs, on time and on budget.

SPMs will independently manage programs and projects using SECU and Consortium project management framework including:

• Using and adhering to established project and program management artifacts throughout the project life cycle.

• Preparing, documenting, and reporting on project meetings, status updates, issues, risks, and budget.

• Resolving issues, removing blockers, and mitigating risks to ensure project delivery times and regulatory compliance.

• Establishing, monitoring, and managing risk that impact service levels.

• Participate in portfolio management, resource allocation and prioritization activities.

SPMs will also provide support and/or leadership for consortium initiatives, as needed, and will complete all required documentation and processes needed to ensure success.

The Senior Project Manager adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position, including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act and related regulations, such as OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act, Fair Lending and Information Security.

A day in your life might include:

Project Management:

• Manage projects from inception to implementation, fostering cross divisional and consortium teamwork.

• Creates Project Charters and detailed project plans, RACI models, testing plans with all tasks, dependencies, and timelines identified. (Keeping those project plans continuously updated.)

• Coordinate all project logistics, including budget, governance, Discovery, Planning & Requirements, Testing, Implementation, and Closeout activity.

• Organize and lead meetings that work with stakeholders to break down project requirements and collect relevant/necessary information for the project.

• Track project deliverables and milestones, using standard project tools. Update project tracking systems and provide periodic reports to senior leaders on project operations and progress.

• Conduct risk assessments to identify & manage project contingencies.

• Responsible for the full execution and reporting of assigned projects, recommending any changes to project scope or project timelines.

• Facilitates adherence to SECU and Consortium project requirements and Change Management policies.

• Serve as a mentor to less experienced PMs and business line managers who are periodically asked to lead projects.

• Support the growth of SECU’s Project and Program Management frameworks by making strategic and tactical contributions to its development.

Program Management

• Manage programs from inception to implementation including stakeholder management, consortium negotiation and facilitation of associated governance committees.

• Collaborating with Senior Management on strategic initiatives.

Portfolio Management

• Participation in SECU portfolio management and prioritization.

• Creating and presenting Executive level reports.

• Analyzes technology and peer trends related to applications, processes, and infrastructure.

• Supports resource planning and capacity monitoring activities and reporting.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

Cross Functional Communication & Collaboration:

• Supports business leaders in completion of a project intake request, risk assessments, vendor due diligence, identifying clear objectives and success criteria.

• Supports collaborative meetings with department leaders and their staff to assess department initiatives, capacity, and timing.

• Maintains good working relationships with Consortium partners and provides support as needed.

• Analyze technology and trends related to applications, processes, and infrastructure to support the growth of SECU’s Project Management Office

Individual & Department Performance:

• Maintains active dialogues with manager, develops and executes plans to elevate individual skills/ performance.

• Evaluate efficiency of processes to determine the need for change in operational procedures or ensure compliance.

• Takes ownership of planning and monitoring department goals and initiatives.

• Manages multiple tasks and priorities effectively, while maintaining attention to detail.

• Participates in/lead industry and community involvement.

• Support additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

What we need from you.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience

• PMP certification required

• Other industry certification (such as Scrum Master) preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years in financial services/banking and proven skills with project management

• Experience leading deposit and or loan product, service, and system projects preferred

• Experience managing multiple projects, tasks and priorities effectively, while maintaining attention to detail

• Experience and proven skills in program management preferred

• Takes personal responsibility for decisions, actions, failures and overall deliverables

• Utilizes oral and written communication to enhance relationships across the organization

• Clearly communicates information, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise and organized manner

• Relates comfortably with people across levels, functions, culture, and geography

• Possesses a clear understanding of strengths, limitations, emotions, beliefs, and motivations of self and others

• Maintains composure and effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment

• Adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements, or cultures

• Demonstrates an understanding of SECU’s culture, core values, mission and strategic priorities as it relates to one’s work and overall performance

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

• Must be able to commute to SECU Headquarters in Linthicum, Maryland as needed for onsite meeting attendance, project coordination, and training

Compensation Information: Offers will be commensurate with experience and education. Please Note: The budget for this role is $130k-$140k/yr.

Salary: Min. $127,500 – Max. $203,900
