This position plays a key role in detecting and locating underground utility lines and pipes. This position also requires high physical activity, excellent attention to detail, and exceptional flexibility day to day: For those residing in NY, the pay rate for this position is at $25/hour. b></div><div>What You'll Do</div><div><div>Line Locating</div><div><ul><li>Receive work tickets from the 811 system</li><li>Read and interpret utility maps showing underground utilities</li><li>Use magnetic sensing equipment and maps (Sure-Lock Utility Pro) to identify the location of underground utility lines and pipes</li><li>Use color coded spray paint is used to mark the location and type (Electric, water, gas, telephone, etc.) of underground line</li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Work in various weather conditions and use shovels necessary to pin-point the location of underground utilities</li><li>Follow strict Utility, State and Federal guidelines for Utility Line Marking</li><li>Provide records of work performed using a digital camera and laptop</li></ul></div><div>Team Collaboration</div><div><ul><li>Participate in safety meetings</li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Provide timely reports and documentation to management per procedures</li><li>Escalate issues and questions to Supervisor per procedures</li><li>Report customer, equipment and vehicle issues immediately</li></ul></div><div>Customer Communication</div><div><ul><li>Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities</li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li>Provide general information about utility lines or pipes to customers, when applicable</li><li>Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate</li></ul></div><div>Other duties as assigned.</div><div>About You</div><div>Must haves:</div></div><div><div><ul><li>Education: None. Must be at least 21 years of age </li><li>Experience: No experience necessary, employees will be trained. Upon hire, the candidate will need to complete and pass all Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training.
