Position Summary
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Engineer 2 to join our dynamic, fast-paced engineering team. This role is intended for a well-rounded engineer who has progressed beyond foundational engineering tasks and is ready to take on increased responsibility and leadership within the department.
As an Engineer 2, you will be expected to work with minimal supervision, managing complex engineering tasks across the entire lifecycle. You will contribute directly to product engineering, machine programming, and quoting/estimating, while also identifying areas for improvement in processes, tools, and team efficiency. Your ability to think critically, problem-solve in real time, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams will be essential to your success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Independently lead engineering design efforts for new and existing products and components
· Create and review 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and detailed documentation (SolidWorks preferred)
· Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software
· Perform accurate and timely quoting and estimating for custom parts and assemblies
· Collaborate cross-functionally with production, sales, and quality to ensure alignment of design, cost, and manufacturability
· Conduct engineering analysis, validation, and prototype testing
· Execute continuous improvement projects & process improvements
· Contribute to internal documentation and process standardization efforts
· Drive root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for design and production issues
· Support company safety, quality, and sustainability initiatives through engineering solutions

Qualifications and Required Skills
· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
· 4-6 years of relevant experience in an engineering, machine programming, or quoting role
· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
· Strong understanding of metal fabrication and experience with CAM software
· Demonstrated experience in estimating/quoting, with an understanding of cost drivers in manufacturing
· Thorough knowledge of technical drawing standards, GD&T, and weld symbology
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
· Willingness to take initiative and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
