Senior Optical Fiber Engineer

We are hiring an experienced Resident Engineer to support a major telecom client on-site. This is a hands-on technical role that combines engineering, network design, deployment, and client-facing consulting. You'll be working directly with the customer, helping design, deploy, and optimize Nokia-based DWDM optical networks.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement network architecture and migration plans

Configure Nokia optical equipment (1830 PSS, etc.) and services

Use NFM-T and optical design tools to manage optical budgets and configurations

Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of DWDM networks

Prepare documentation: implementation plans, SoWs, audits

Deliver training and customer support

Collaborate with internal engineering, marketing, and customer teams

Provide technical leadership during deployments and critical events

Must-Have Qualifications:

10+ years in telecom or service provider environments

Strong hands-on experience with LH/Metro DWDM optical networks

7+ years using optical design tools, amplifier configuration, and NFM-T

IP networking experience

Nokia product expertise (1830 PSS, CPB, EPT; 1350 OMS preferred)

Practical knowledge of GMPLS and CDC in DWDM networks

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field (or equivalent experience)
