Job Description
Job Summary:
Performs moderately complex technical functions in support of Information Technology (IT) cabling and cabling component installation activities such as:
· Installing, terminating, and testing category 6/6e cabling.
· Installing, terminating and testing large pair count copper riser cabling
· Installing and testing fiber riser cabling
· Installing and testing pre-terminated fiber station cabling
· Installation of work area wall plates and/or Passive Optical Network (PON) optical network terminals (ONTs).
· Installation of communication space components, i.e., cabinets, racks, fiber/copper patch panels, wire management, grounding and other components used in communication spaces
· Installation of both coper and fiber patch cords in communication spaces and at end user locations
· Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal instructions
· May be required to diagnose and isolate malfunctions and make necessary repairs
· Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
· Participates in special projects as required
Experience: Generally, has 3 to 5 years of experience
Education: Associates degree or specialized training in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and/or work experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD (Entry on Duty).
BICSI Installer Training Copper and Fiber Level 2 preferred
