The Import Supervisor oversees the importation of goods by air and ocean, ensuring efficient and timely delivery while maintaining compliance with regulations. This role involves managing relationships with customers, vendors, and service providers to deliver exceptional service and enhance operational efficiency.

We are currently looking for a highly skilled and motivated Import Supervisor with outstanding negotiation and organizational skills and a passion for problem solving. The ideal candidate is excited by unique challenges faced in the logistics world, has experience dealing in imports to the United States, enjoys seeing a process through from start to finish, and is often referred to as a jack of all trades."

Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the importation of goods by air and ocean, including carrier selection, booking and final mile transportation.

- Address and resolve customer inquiries promptly to maintain satisfaction and trust

- Manage relationships with customers, to ensure our high level of service

- Ensure 100% compliance with US regulations

- Identify and execute process improvements to reduce costs and enhance customer experience

- Supervise small team of import agents with support and coaching of staff

Key Skills & Qualifications

Industry experience, minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics or other related fields preferred

Negotiate local Ad-Hoc pricing when required with vendors Complete process of shipments, including arrangement for pick-up or inland transportation, booking, timely document preparation follow-up with tracking and tracing to destination.

Time management skills and the ability to multi-task.

Work closely with team and stations to deliver a high level of service

Strong communication in telephone, email, and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to comply with all TSA regulations (including criminal and background check)

Strong analytical and problems-solving skills with ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

Strong customer service, organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a team

In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain management and freight principlesWork Location:
