Materials Handler
Job Overview:
This position works as the face of Bowden to our vendors.
Safely transport raw materials and finished goods within the shop, and to Vendors and Customers.
Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and meet customer and company specifications.
Lead the packaging and skid-wrapping process to ensure efficient and accurate preparation of products for shipment.
Collaborate with Production and Warehouse teams to ensure timely and efficient material delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to and from storage or production areas in a timely manner using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
Load and unload materials from trucks, verifying the shipments against delivery documents.
Store products in proper locations to maintain inventory integrity and continuous improvement of process flow.
Perform inventory control functions, including labeling, tracking, and regular cycle counts.
Issue materials to production lines according to work orders and schedules.
Label and store materials accurately to ensure traceability and prevent loss or damage.
Follow all safety procedures and handle hazardous or fragile materials with care.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in material storage and handling areas.
Communicate damaged or missing inventory promptly to Team Leads to uphold the importance of quality.
Support other production tasks as needed displaying a strong work ethic and excellent teamwork.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship
Valid Driver License
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
Demonstration of a positive attitude that impacts the existing company culture.
Ability and eagerness to learn new skills and adjust to increased workloads displaying a helpful work ethic.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze data to verify meets high quality standards.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift and material handling equipment experience; certification preferred.
Basic math, computer, and data entry skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
