We can ONLY consider your application if you have:

1: Bachelor's (STEM) Degree with 6+ years of experience OR Master's (STEM) Degree with 3 years of experience in medium to large scale tooling fabrication and/or production fabrication including composites, metallic, coatings application, and/or production manufacturing operations.

2: Analysis of simple to complex problems via hand calculations and FEM, respectively.

3: Experience with stress analysis techniques, concepts and practices

4: Computer Aided Design Tools - Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (CATIA/NX). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).

5: Engineering Drawings & Specs - Basic ability to create, read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications in accordance with ASME 14.5. Basic level understanding of GD&T

6: Able to communicate with various levels of leadership, must be able to coordinate and resolve interpersonal and technical problems and must work well either in a team or independently with limited guidance

7: Experience with fabrication applying such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements.

8: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access

9: Structural Analysis (Manual/Calculation and software aided methods)

10: CAD Modeling & Drafting Knowledge

11: Manufacturing environment knowledge

We are looking for an engineer who has a structural analysis background to assist in generating the structural engineering analysis package to demonstrate compliance of tooling fixtures such as assembly & lifting jigs in an aerospace fabrication environment.

The candidate shall analyze, research and provide input on product design, or operation of product involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability, stress fatigue, damage tolerance, durability & design allowables.

While being principle contributor and/or leader of a task, this person will work with internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs.

DESIRED (not required) SKILLS:

:: Professional Engineering License (preferably from California) or working to obtain PE

:: Direct Aerospace Tooling experience

:: Direct experience with Tooling mechanics and analysis relative to stress

:: Preference for PE (Professional Engineer) or for EIT Certificate (Passed FE)

Duties and Responsibilities

== Performing structural analysis in FEMAP/NASTRAN of metallic and composite structures.

== Creation of reports in support of completed analysis as well as review reports of others

== Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.

== Engage with other team members in meetings, 1:1's and others in order to provide the right solution to complex engineering problems

== Evaluation of engineering products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications

== Static and dynamic analysis in support of Major/Minor and simple to complex Tooling fixtures and structures

== Design & drafting of simple to complex Tooling in support of Aircraft assembly and build via CAD software

== Conducting technical peer reviews, analyzing tooling structures including loads and dynamics, stress, stability and fatigue.

== Attending design reviews to provide feedback to peers from initial review of models and further findings from studies.

== Tasked with their own design development in between stress projects.

== Familiar with current fabrication/machine shop practices to provide guidance to engineers.

== Able to work autonomously and in a team environment, adapt to processes and company policy while providing input or methods of process/design innovation.

== Assist in the design of industrial tools, assembly structures, lifting jigs, composite dies, drill fixtures, machine attachments and equipment, required for production or experimental use
